STEPtember is here for 2024!Steptember is an initiative in the month of September to raise awareness and funding for cerebral palsy innovative treatments pre and post birth. Participants can commit to walking 10,000 steps per day in September and join a community of like-minded people whilst improving your health goals.Cerebral Palsy is a movement disorder which is present during or immediately post birth which is caused by structural damage to the developing brain. It is a permanent condition which can involve a variety of presenting impairments affecting muscle control, tone, posture and balance. People with Cerebral palsy can also present with other intellectual disabilities and sensory impairments.It is the most common disability in childhood with 1 in 700 babies born in Australia or 34000 people in Australia affected.At Warrawong physiotherapy centre, we are championing the cause of STEPtember as it such a great cause with the advantage helping you from moving more.
